The super sausages made by the capital’s top butcher Crombie & Son, 97 Broughton Street, Edinburgh are on the menu in the Royal Mile's top restaurants. The firm also produced a Greyfriars Bobby Banger to celebrate the world famous terrier's 150th anniversary. Being a dog, Bobby loved butcher meat. Mrs Denholm who worked in a butcher’s close to Greyfriars Kirk recalled how Bobby would come into the shop for a bite to eat and a saucer of milk. Although the final performance of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo took place on Saturday, the Festival has one more week to go. If you’re coming to the capital this week don’t forget to pop into Crombies for a pound of One o’ Clock Gun Bangers. Highly recommended by the Mad Hatter. |
