‘Angels from the Realms of Glory’ is one of the first festive hymns to be sung at Christmas services.

Composed by English poet James Montgomery, although  the carol was published in 1816,  it only began to be sung in churches after it was  republished nine years later.

Greyfriars Church was the first Presbyterian Church in Scotland to have a harmonium installed thanks to Dr. Robert Lee the minister of Old Greyfriars.
