The re-enactment... The re-enactment on the Half Moon Battery, Edinburgh Castle to celebrate the 150th A
nniversary of the One o’ Clock Gun went with a bang despite the wet weather. The gun team from 105th Regt RA (V) under the command of RSM Craig Roxby kitted out as Chief Master Gunner Findlay rolled back the eighteen pounder, rammed the powder bag down the barrel and rolled the gun back into place, ready for firing. The sound of the time-gun going off must have been heard in Greyfriars Kirkyard where Bobby originally heard the report and began using it as a signal to go for his dinner. The previous day Bombardier Blue the One o' Clock Gun & Time Ball Association's mascot paid a visit to STV studios in Glasgow to advertise the historic event. The interview can be seen on: video.stv.tv/bc/Entertainment/catchup-thehour This week’s photograph was taken by Captain Alan Clayton. |
