The Lord Provost...
The ceremony will take place at the San Diego dog’s statue in West Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh after the District Gunner, Shannon the Cannon fires the One o’ Clock Gun. The ceremony is being held to raise awareness of the Edinburgh / San Diego Sister City Association. Special guest John C. Wilson was responsible for arranging for the statue to be set up in the Gardens in 2008. A replica of Greyfriars Bobby’s statue was also presented to the City of San Diego and the world’s most famous dog sits in the garden of the William Heath Davis House Museum in the city’s Gaslamp Quarter. Brian McKenzie the chairman of the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association kitted out as Colour Sergeant Scott and the OCGTA ‘s mascot Bombardier Blue will be present at the ceremony. The Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh will be attending the ceremony for Bum on 10th November.
