Scottish National Portrait GalleryThe Scottish National Portrait Gallery re-opens daily from 10am to 5pm on Thursday 1st December. In addition to the gallery’s superb collection of paintings, the red sandstone Gothic building contains the Scottish National Photography Collection.

Built between 1885 and 1890 and modelled on the Doges Palace in Venice the Scottish National Portrait Gallery was designed by Robert Rowand Anderson.

The photographic collection includes the portrait of a dog labelled ‘Greyfriars Bobby’.
