George RobertsonFloral Clock Day went well. Retired Master Wood Carver George Robertson and his wife Mary were the special guests at the event which was also attended by the Lord and Lady Provost.

Bombardier Blue the mascot of the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association was also present.

The design on this year’s clock features the 100th anniversary of Action on Hearing Loss Scotland.

As Shannon the Cannon fired the One o’Clock Gun bang on time from the Mills Mount Battery, the cuckoo popped out of his little wooden house to find out what was going on.

Like Greyfriars Bobby’s drinking fountain, thousands of visitors have flocked to see the Floral Clock since it was set up in West Princes Street Gardens in 1903.

Isobel Skeldon the One o' Clock Gun & Time Gun Association's Events Manager held the crowds spellbound with her story on the history of the city's floral masterpiece.

This week’s photograph taken by George Robertson’s son Tommy shows the Master Wood Carver who carved the orignal cuckoo standing beside the world’s most famous floral clock.
